I've been to New York a couple times before..but I explored a lot of new places this time that I hadn't yet seen! If New York had the same weather situation as LA, I would live there; but it obviously- unfortunately, doesn't. I don't think my Southern California blood could handle the winters, so Los Angeles I stay. I was just thankful we seemed to have picked the most gorgeous weekend EVER to visit New York, hallelujah!
We arrived Thursday night, and started our day on Friday with an agenda (if you're travelling with me, there is usually, almost definitely, always an agenda. I'm trying to get better at that whole free-spirited thing, but for now, I like to plan a majority of the day when travelling- it's less stressful, at least for me).
In the morning, we went to the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, a classic architectural icon. I'm not gonna lie, I didn't go to the museum for the art, I went to see the majesty behind Frank Lloyd Wright's genius mind, and architectural masterpiece. Although the museum was under construction at the time of our visit, I was not at all disappointed- and my design-nerd-self could temporarily calm down after my morning architecture fix.
The remainder of the day was spent exploring Central Park, and staring at the ominous clouds rolling in praying that it didn't start to rain, which it did- but only for a bit. We drank lots of delicious coffee throughout the day, and ended the night seeing American in Paris on Broadway, in Times Square. It was a magical day, and magical night in magical New York.
