We made the decision to go camping in Holcomb Valley this weekend. This decision was made however, before we knew it would be snowing. SNOW IN CALIFORNIA IN MAY?! Needless to say, I was beyond excited. I realized once we got to the campground (which was empty) however, no other people are as crazy as us, and voluntarily spend their Friday afternoon driving through a snow flurry with icy roads and low visibility. Oh well, what's a trip without a little adventure, right?
We spent the weekend climbing, roasting veggies over the campfire, drinking wine out of mugs, and staring at the crystal clear stars. The last day before leaving, we explored Big Bear Lake a bit, and enviously stared down all the adorable houses on the water that we don't have, but hope to someday (well, we don't want all of them, one will do!). A much needed weekend for some fresh air and time out of the city.
